A Course in Miracles is a unique, universal, self-study spiritual thought system that teaches that the way to love and inner peace is through forgiveness. It makes a fundamental distinction between the real and the unreal; between knowledge and perception. It aims to remove the hindrances blinding us from the divine presence of Love’s awareness.

You may be asking yourself, “How do I know if A Course in Miracles is for me?” From the King James Version of the Bible, Matthew 22:14 reads, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” This verse is often misunderstood to mean that the gospel is exclusive to a few but really it means, ‘all are called, few choose to listen.’ If this simple introduction to A Course in Miracles speaks to you, you may be on your way to your true path.

Do you consider yourself a true spiritual seeker? According to ACIM, when we are looking through the eyes of the ego/judgment – the ego’s dictate is to “seek and do not find,” when the reality is that what you are seeking belongs to you in truth.
We are all given an individualized curriculum – but how do you know if ACIM is on your curriculum? No one outside yourself will tell you what is right for you, but you will know. No person outside yourself will be telling you that your assignment is ACIM. It doesn’t work that way because it is an inside job. Only you know – the same you that knows when you see something truly beautiful or majestic. No one outside yourself needs to tell you it is beautiful because you KNOW. You are certain without a doubt when you encounter beauty, you don’t just believe it is beautiful because belief always implies doubt. We do not need to depend on any form outside yourself to know, no proof needed from a secondary source.

When ACIM states “Make no decision on your own,” it means do not choose with your ego or the inner critic who makes judgments. Choose to let the one that knows how to turn an acorn into an oak tree to decide for you. And if we do make a mistake, we can always choose again. Mistakes are beneficial when we learn from them – we can learn to make right use of our mistakes. In addition, ACIM states that the ego believes mistakes to be punished rather than in truth which is that mistakes are simply errors to simply be corrected.

A Course in Miracles states that under the law of God, knowledge is truth. Truth is unalterable, eternal, and unambiguous. It applies to everything that God has created. On the other hand, the world of perception is the world of time, of change, of beginnings and endings. God is simply another word for the Awakened Mind or Love. According to ACIM, there are only two emotions, Love or Fear. Fear is simply an absence of Love. Love is to Light as fear is to darkness.

When you have been caught in the world of perception you are caught in a dream. You cannot escape without help because everything your six senses show merely bear witness to the reality of this dream. Nevertheless, fear not, for God has provided the Answer and the only way out by giving us a true teacher within that provides Divine Guidance–The Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit’s goal to help us escape from this dream world by teaching us how to reverse our thinking and undo our earthly conditioning.

Now is the time to ask for Divine Guidance to show you what path is for you. You will know when you hear this still small voice for God because it is quiet and gentle as opposed to the ego’s raucous shrieking. Henceforth become quiet and hear the still small Voice for God. He will focus your efforts, your strengths, to guide you, and when you come to Him in silence, asking for His Word, He will speak to you directly.
